Typical science fair:
Under the direction of Dr. Lawrence ( inventor of the cyclotron)--who told them what to read, some boys--with help from shop teachers ( probably science teachers, too)
do the grudge work to build a cyclotron.

Well, I built one myself--when I was a younger teen--from
an article in "The Amateur Scientist" ( Scientific American). It was smaller--of course. I had no help.
I didn't bother entering it in a "Science Fair"--because
I already knew that Science Fairs were phoney--as described above.

Want to win the Intel Search---spend some summers in high
school working with a university prof as her cheap hands, and enter her ( oops--your) project.
