The worst thing of all is that these myths are still around.
My mom thought I was bound for a mental asylum or a heroin addiction when she found out I smoked pot at the age of 18. I've smoked now for 19 years (and used mushrooms, LSD, DMT and salvia) and have worked all of that time, served in the military, have a beautiful wife and three kids, have built my own house, and have a bachelors degree in biochemistry. And I have never been in trouble with the police.

I may some day admit to her that I never stopped smoking pot, but I really don't think she'll believe me anyway, shes been brainwashed like so many others.

Now I know where the people at pushingback.com and theantidrug.com got their material! Hillarious!

Back in those days you had to smoke four joints to get any effect, because most of the pot sold was actually wild hemp. It also looks like this fellow had a pre-exsting problem that he was self-medicating to alleviate.

This is completely, 100% bullshit. Many people smoke marijuana and are still fully capable of keeping a rewarding, successful lifestyle. Also, one does not usually hallucinate from regular marijuana, no matter how large the dose! This story sounds a little too far'fetched to me.

That's what I was thinking. It sounds a lot more like LSD.

"I start giggling. I laugh loudly when a companion merely asks me for a match. It’s silly—but I can’t help it. The world is swirling with lights and fun.

Now a third smoke … a fourth. This time my hands feel huge, my feet miles away. I’m afraid to step out of the chair. A small downward step is like a deep plunge into a dark abyss.

That’s the danger point. I wish I could stop smoking, but I can’t. Suddenly I feel I’m soaring around the room. I spot a small vase and plunge into it. I swim around. Then I’m choking and frantically fight my way up for air. Finally I crawl out, gasping.

A portrait on the wall comes to life, the girl in the picture stretches out her hands, grasps my throat. I scream. …"

I totally WANT some of whatever this guy smoked!

Scientists hired by NYC Mayor laGuardia report:
“Marijuana is not habit-forming. … It has very little to do with the commission of major crimes. … It does not lead to juvenile delinquency. . . ”

The report pointed out that the 70 prisoners appeared lazy throughout their bout with the drug. They showed no desire for action and never got into fights with one another.

But that was only because they didn't smoke enough (even though the author says his effects were immediate after smoking one muggle)
