Hello James - It would be a pleasure talking to you about your grandfather. I studied a great deal about Fred when I was in college at Rochester Institute of Technology and as a type designer have worked to create digital versions of many of his typefaces (including Truesdell, Ornate and Bertham). You can reach me through http://www.ascendercorp.com/contact/
I hope to hear from you.

I'm Fredric Goudy's grandson (Alice M. Goudy's son) and it it a pleasure to find a lot of information on my grandfather. I was born is 46 so I never really knw him as he passed away in Nov of 47. I do remember that we had tons of literature in the basement of our home in Fostertown NY, where my Mom moved after leaving Marlbourgh. I know she had a lot of pictures of the museum after it burnt down and that she and I cataloged a lot of papers that went off to college collections. I do recall taht he had the original Ben Franklin press and a William Morris press and if I am correct they are in the Library of Congress and the Smithstonian.
Any information you could provide regarding a book on Blackstones Magic that he did the type for would be appreciated.

Thanks
James E. Gray, son of James E. And Alice M. Goudy-Gray
