So let me get this straight: There is a lot of microfilm in the time capsule... but no microfilm reader.
A Beatles 45, but no record player.
Cigarettes but no matches.
I guess the laundry soap is to wash the bikini.

A non-doer is very often a critic-that is, someone who sits back and watches doers, and then waxes philosophically about how the doers are doing. It's easy to be a critic, but being a doer requires effort, risk, and change....

Donald Trump built a big shadow-maker windows-only apartment skyrise on the lower left corner of Central Park, last decade. He had a nice looking miniature model sculpture of the earth from the fair site placed there too.

Another fact, at least of about a decade ago, the Fair Site *still* exists as a park, and this ASTONISHING, and still maintained-if-not-updated (WTC?) football field sized model of Manhattan is still an attraction. Each building is there, with lights, so they cycle the time of day as you walk around it. THEY DON'T EVEN SHOW IT IN THIS ARTICLE and I can't find an image of it online. Ah, FOUND it:
http://jschumacher.typepad.com/photos/new_york_panorama/panorama_7.html
It's now part of the Queens Museum of Art.

What these days comes close to that is Google Maps, which has a tab for showing buildings in shadowed but architecturally detailed format.

We are looking for photos of a particular dancer at the '65 Worlds fair...Lucrecia Russo who was my husbands biological mother...I found his family in 2004 but unfortunately Lucrecia was no longer living and there was only one photo of her. We are hoping to find more...she danced for the duration of the fair...She was a flamenco-belly dancer...most likely danced either in the Hawaiian,Polynesian, or Middle Eastern pavillions...She was of Irish and Cuban descent...married name Russo...may have used her maiden name Bethancourt...any information no matter how small would be most appreciated...thank you Chéri

From all the literature and publications, and tons of photos, the fair for me was more of a fairy tail than a reality. I remember my father telling me about all the attractions and magic of the fair when I was a kid. I alwyas asked him when the next one was gonna be, and he always answered that he hoped it would be soon. This new book came out, 'The End of the Innocence
The 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair' which I find really explores lot of what the fair grew to symbloize: the hope for the future.

The press release is here:
