Douglas Aircraft engineers enliven noon hour by racing tiny cars jet-driven by CO2

THESE ARE REALLY COOL!
I’d love to know what the various aspect ratios gave each type its quality of performance. That is, how did weight vs aerodynamics work on the Studebaker sedan? or did the ones with winglet axles outperform the ones with struts?
When I raced slot cars in my youth a balance of weight (more providing traction) vs maximum effective lightness was a constant source of experimentation and discussion.

Check out these little soda powered CO2 cars from Popular Science 1947, the racers lined up and when they received the ‘GO!” signal they punctured the cartridge launching them off along a string… I think the kid in the……
