The hose also detaches for direct connection between exhaust and car window, convenient for those considering suicide due to economic conditions.

Considering that gas was probably less than a few cents per gallon in 1932 why be worried about how efficient idling was?

Isn't it the Venturi Effect that creates the suction used for the vacuum? It's a condition that is created from the Bernoulli Effect. The faster and lower pressure flow through a constricted opening (Bernoulli) can be transformed into a partial vacuum (Venturi). There's no CO pushed into the car, it's all suction.

OMG Stan,

1. CO is odourless
2. It's obviously using classic fluid dynamics to generate a low pressure. That means you are sucking sh** in, other than spraying your car with exhaust.

Oh, and it's not efficient at all. Just look at that long thin tube, and imagine if you have to breath thru that.

Idling is not cheap either, considering gas is like a buck a liter.

I like it, just for its sheer lack of efficiency. Why directly power your suction device when you could just use the Bernoulli effect generated by the waste product of an idling engine?
