Trained Cockroach Smuggles Smokes
How a prisoner in solitary confinement received forbidden cigarettes was revealed by Amarillo, Tex., jail officials. Inmates tied a cigarette and match to the back of a trained cockroach, which smuggled them into the cell.
Simultaneously the most ridiculous and most brilliant thing I’ve ever heard. How did they train it, though?
Also, is it just me, or does the insect pictured look NOTHING like a cockroach?

I think that’s a bee.

What if the roach tries to squeeze under something with that strike-anywhere match tied to its back? Doesn’t sound pretty to me..

That’s a locust/grasshopper !!! Either way, I will keep that in mind if I’m ever in jail.

That IS a cockroach. Most people aren’t used to seeing the bottom side of them.
