WINDPROOF SUIT TO AID MT. EVEREST CLIMBERS

Windproof suits will be used by mountain climbers next summer, in a new attempt to reach the 29,141-foot summit of Mount Everest in Asia. The costume is scientificially designed to give protection from icy blasts. Members of the expedition will carry oxygen tanks.

    I came across this wonderful image from a 1933 advertisement for a new windsuit to be used on Mount Everest for the 1933 Everest Expedition. It originally appeared in the March, 1933 edition of Popular Science magazine. Seems that climbing…
