Coils in Soles Give Springy Step
THE springiness provided in the soles of a new type of shoe on the market greatly reduces the shock of walking on hard sidewalks. As shown at the right, the coil springs are fastened to a metal plate that is inserted between the inner and outer soles. In actual tests the cushioning effect of the shoe proved to be superior to that given by rubber, inventor claims.
