The signal was converted to NTSC on the ground.

Rapid movement produces color artifacts.

That would be a nice effect in a music video or SciFi show.

(Never saw it myself, but supposedly the motion picture &quot;West Side Story&quot; used an optical effect that de-synchronised the colors in one of the musical numbers.

PS: LSD does this too.
