These were first made by New London Metal Processing and the radiator cap will have the initials NLMP that company later became Mystic river sales in Mystic CT and they continued to make the same tractor and used the same frame and body stampings for another model with steerable wheels called the Powercar Junior. The blade was an option as was the dump trailer and they were available in both pedal and electric versions but not gas motor. Later on the company became the Powercar Company of Mystic CT and sold electric and gas powered versions of automobiles until 1967 when they went under.

Duaine, I can remember the fun my childhood buddies and I had days on end figuring out how to use my dozer and various toys; pedal, push and pull type to aid in constructing playhouses damns etc. What fun in passing time during summer breaks!

I've been following this website for several years (dating back to the steam-powered airplane) but this is my first post. Of course I enjoy the content, but I enjoy the comments as well. They are educational and, for the most part, civil. I say for "the most part" specifically because there is one contributor who can be consistently counted on to ridicule posts and maybe even insult the poster. Firebrand38, I'm sure you think your scoffing is funny and, insofar as humor is subjective, maybe it is. I used to be very much like you, until it was pointed out to me, and not so politely, that while I thought I was being funny or insightful everyone else just thought I was a jackass. My suggestion to you would would therefore be to dial down the ad hominem attacks a notch or two. My apologies for the public comments, but I did not know of a way to send this privately, which I would have preferred to do.

jayessell: Oh, that one. See, I had to be reminded. Well, it is an unsubstantiated anecdote. Didn't really make me mad at you. A number of us have been through a lot on this blog together what with the Mayans, wife swappers and sex offenders and such.

FB... Thanks again re Gary

But I got the 'grill' remark backwards.
What I meant was, what post of MINE did YOU disagree with?
The missile test one?
(The book I thought I read it from doesn't mention it, as you surmised.)

Gents - I think we can all cool down a bit. This seems to have started over a misunderstanding of the intent behind quoting a movie. I don't think anyone mean to put down Cat operators or ditch diggers of any ilk.

And I think we can all agree that the dozer in the article is a VERY cool toy.

Yep, I get it all. Thank you for the lesson in blog etiquette. Didn't mean too but haven't caused a stir like this since I pulled a pop quiz about the proper use of lathe dogs.

Gary: Look at the top of the page genius. It's the

Modern Mechanix

blog not the pedal bulldozer blog. This is one thread and not the entire blog. By the way, all caps is the same as shouting so don't do that anymore.
The point is the owner of this blog (Charlie) scans old magazine articles and generously posts them for all to see. I enjoy reading them. That's the point as far as I'm concerned (as well as opportunities to scoff, I love to scoff). Other folks get different points out of it depending on how they roll.

Hey, when I found this blog I was looking for D4 cat pedal dozer info. I was trying to figure out how the stuff at the bottom of this blog fit in (listed below) if you haven't looked that far down the page. Now people are upset and I haven't heard anything about the subject I started out to research. Not my intent–does anyone out there (let's regroup) have any info on the pedal dozer?

WHAT'S THE POINT OF POSTS @ THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE HAVE TO DO WITH CHILDS SIZE BULLDOZER? FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

Thanks FB.

Gary, our interdependent society DOES need blue collar workers in addition to executives and office workers.
A kid playing with age-appropriate construction equipment sounds like someone who will help rebuild this
country when he grows up.

PS: FB...
What was that post I made that got in YOUR grill?

I'm not sorry for any of my citations, a prick statement is just such. I am looking for people to contribute who can give input to what is being discussed. If one wants to be funny, then type a little more and have us all a bit of enjoyment. At least someone is out there listening–anyone got a pedal dozer? no I am not that serious an individual. Chr--st I'm a retired shop teacher. If that ain't a hoot? If you have constructive stuff to say go ahead. If you want to be funny or entertaining go ahead. Sorry I didn't get the point to "Caddyshack" Well for this ignorant just contributing asshole, where is his contributions concerning this subjuct? Maybe if you'll direct me to his contributions I may gleen some education from them.

Gary: Chill. He was quoting a movie for crying out loud. Ted Knight said it to Michael O'Keefe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dbLfD5Vjq4 jayessel even listed the movie for the cinematicaly challenged so don't play the working class hero card.
He's been contributing to this forum for a while now (a lot longer than you have I might add).
