This looks familiar.

EXERCISE IN HAMMOCK HELPS TO REDUCE WEIGHT
To exercise the parts of the body in which fat accumulates, and help users improve their physical condition, a revolving
hammock has been invented. It is said to stretch the spine and the muscles, stimulate circulation, and reduce weight. The device consists of a metal framework, with stirrups at one end and head grip at the other. A strap goes under the chin. Canvas webbing, shaped like a “Y”, supports the body.

  1. I cannot look at this picture without wincing. Although I do believe it helped people lose weight. When you used the thing, you either severed your spine and were paralyzed, or hurt it so bad you were in agony. Either way, you’re not gonna be taking in many calories.

  2. it’s the chinstrap that’s truly terrifying;I imagine that it really would ’stretch the muscles’ in a way never before imagined.

wonder how many were actually sold?

  3. Sort of a chiropractic version of a massage chair… Do it yourself at home! Comes complete with neck brace in case of an “oops!” moment.
