		<description>SCHOLZ - ZELEZNY, Helene (also: Zelezny, Zelezny - Scholz, Helena Scholzová¬-Železná), sculptor, * 16. 8. 1882 Chropyně (District Kroměříž), + 18. 2. 1974 Roma (Italy).
Her father was dr. Albert Scholz. She spent her early youth in fathers castle in Třebovice. Her mother Marie Stonawski (1861-1944) was a writer with pseudonym Maria Stona – she wrote novels, stories and poems and she led artistic salon in Třebovice.
Helene S. visited drawing courses in Vienna and Dresden, studied statuary in Berlin (professor Fritz Heinemann). Her studies in Brusel between 1898 - 1901 were decisive (professor Charles van der Stappen). Ch. van der Stappen combined the stress on the basic of realistic sculpture with the French sensualism in his teaching and creation.
Helen S. had merit in the action the exhibicion of work Charles van der Stappen in Ostrava in 1912. The town Brusel, one of the centres of modern art, symbolism and secession, was influenced Helene S. too. She stayed in Italy in 1907, during her studies, that is why she knew Italian sculpture. In 1913 she visited Tunis and also the castle Jánský vrch to visit cardinal Kopp, whose she portraited. She moved to Vienna at the beginning of the first World war.

In 1930 she led the American cours of drawing, painting and sculpture etc. in Veselí na Moravě.
She was the most significant representative of the sculpture of north Moravia and Silesia beside J. Obeth in the end of the 19. century and at the beginning of the 20. century.
