		<description>17 to drive in the UK, 17-18 to join the military, maybe a year or two less as a fudge factor for those who lied about their ages, plus 5 years since the war puts them in their mid-20s at least. Call a woman in her 20s a "girl" at your peril.

And am I the only one who thinks that if this were the 1950s instead of the 1920s, it would've been turned into a "Carry On" movie?</description>
