Clasp Converts Pants to Knickers (Apr, 1934)

Clasp Converts Pants to Knickers
TWO pants can now be had from one, with tricky little clasp invented by Thomas Vaccaro of Los Angeles. Ordinary trousers worn at the office can be converted in a minute into golf knickers, and the business executive is then ready for an afternoon of golf. The change is made with quick manipulation of a strap device easily installed on any pair of pants.

  2. “Does your boss re-buckle his knickerbockers below the knee when he sneaks out to play golf?
Then you’ve got Trouble, with a capital T that rhymes with G that stands for go-olf!”

  3. I actually have a pair of work trousers (new last year) I can remove the lower end just below the knee it hotter weather. They use a zipper though. Yes, I look like a dweeb, but I like them.

  4. Yes thats pretty cool how he just turns trousers into shorts. However you can buy these type of trousers everywhere now so it seems a little pointless.

  5. Dickies: Very sophisticated, but once again this was a new idea in 1934.
