"The big thing is that it is human nature to want to see what is hidden"

Well this could also be the reason why humans are so interested about the "spirit realm", fiddling with ouija boards and the like. But a problem with nudity is that, on one hand, it is not practical in many places to be naked all time time (it is just too cold). And on another hand, even if people would have been naked in the past (such as: in the summer a few months ago) but then have to wear clothes, the past is forgotten and the same old interest in nakedness re-appears. So I say best to just wear clothes most of the time because in order to keep that interest (that you are referring to) away, people would have to be without clothes pretty much all time.

Jon: I don't know about every citizen but I think it's pretty goddamn amazing that I get to own all the guns I want. Right up there with free speech, free assembly and all. Yup, amazing is the word. By the way, coming as you are from the land of Mad Max movies it's kind of disingenuous to take a swipe at explosions and violence in Hollywood. And for the record, I'm glad that you don't live in this country either.

We have been conditioned for a long time to believe that nudity is bad and something to be ashamed of. This is of course wrong.

As conservative and religious walls continue to be broken down and fade away, people start to feel more comfortable about their bodies. This is good. There is nothing to be ashamed of.

However, that doesn't mean we should all be walking down the street naked either. Everyone should do what makes them happy, but also have respect for those around them in public.

The big thing is that it is human nature to want to see what is hidden. That is why nudity has both an exciting and also a shock factor to it. If it were normal for everyone to be naked, we would be desensitised to it and wouldn't give a damn. It's hiding it in the first place that makes it exciting and or shocking.

There is no doubt though that a civilised society needs clothes. However, I am much more approving of Europe's "openness" to nudity, as opposed to the prudish repressed country that is the US of A. It's amazing to me that Hollywood can have explosions, violence and every US citizen can have a gun, and yet say shit or show some boob at 7 or 8pm on TV, and it will draw an outrage. I am glad I don't live in this country.

Oh great! I'm a "Textile" now. Super! Now guys like David can now go "Oh, baby it's a nudist thing....you just don't get it".

Since you asked HOW and not WHY I'll tell you. Because it's the law in effect at the time.

It's a textile thing, you just don't get it.

This is spinning down the pointless drain. I'm off to other pursuits. Goodbye David.

If not, that's okay. Textiles don't understand nudism and for us nudists to explain it to them is damned near impossible. So, don't feel bad if you don't get it. It's just something that has to be experienced to understand the true nature of it. I'm not saying you have to experience it. That's your choice. But, what I don't get is this: if nudists can't force clothed people to take off their clothes, HOW can clothed people force nudists to wear them? Answer that one. See what I mean about not being created equal. It's as though clothed people think they're better than naked people. Is that fair? What if you were a nudist and someone tells you you have to put on clothes against your will?

So, that makes you prejudice if you don't agree that naked people should have the same rights as clothed people. We're all human beings, clothed or not. As for the proof I'm looking for, see my previous statement. Naked people should be treated just as equal as clothed people. THAT'S the proof I'm looking for. Since naked people DON'T have the same rights and are NOT treated as equal as clothed people, that's the point I was getting at that we're not created equal, as we should be. Do you understand now?

David - a nudist: No I don't agree, but thanks for playing.

By the way in answer to your "HA! Prove it." When Jefferson used the created equal thing in the Declaration of Independence that was a statement against the then accepted Divine Right of Kings.

So HA! I don't know what proof you are looking for.

Big deal. My penis is small (to see it, you need a magnifying glass, lol), but I don't complain about it. While a "small" guy may feel jealous if his wife looks at "bigger" men, it's extremely rare that the wife would take advantage of her husband. And, it's like I said before, if people were to see and get used to seeing nudity on a regular basis, it would no longer be a big deal. Size would no longer matter and I strongly believe more people would be happier with themselves and others. And, something I recently found out from the book I was reading...Body Freedom Day. Some guy, I forget his name, strongly believes that naked people should have equal rights with clothed people. I agree 150% with that. Think about it. Why should naked people be kept in enclosed spaces while clothed people can roam about freely? Another person from the book said that the right to exist, uncovered, should hold precedence over the right not to view this, for the objection is irrational. I can't argue with that. Yet, many people don't understand and simply disagree with these things. In other words, clothed people are better than naked people to most people and naked people don't have the right to co-exist with clothed people. And, we're supposed to be "created equal"? HA! Prove it. If we're supposedly "created equal", then naked people SHOULD have the same rights as clothed people. If nudity is offensive to clothed people, ask yourselves why. Being offended by the visual appearance of another person is prejudice. That's like being offended by a person who's a different color than you. Just because naked people may LOOK different than clothed people doesn't mean they ARE different. They deserve the same respect as clothed people. Agreed?

First, explain why people in general make a big deal about nudity. We're all born that way and we all know what we look like underneath the clothes we wear. So, why the fuss when it is seen? I have no problems with nudity and only wear clothes when necessary. Why can't people grow up and get used to this? There are far more important things to worry about in this world than getting riled up whenever nudity is seen. If people would get used to seeing nudity, it would not be such a big deal. Take, for instance, way back in the early 20th century. Women could not even expose their ankles in public. Now, of course, the dress code has relaxed and women's ankles are no big deal. You don't hear people complaining "why is she exposing her ankle?" Why not? Because we've gotten used to it. So, why not full nudity? If you see it once or twice, sure, you might not be used to it. But, if you see it all the time...see what I'm getting at?
