Very cool. My dad was the author. He and his brothers owned this thrill show and toured for about 10 years. Regarding the previous comments: Yes, they probably were a bit crazy to do such things, but they enjoyed it. No, the article didn't gloss over anything -- no one was ever maimed or killed. Hard to believe? But, true. They were fanatical about safety, and wanted to give the people the best possible show for their money. It was a very unique form of entertainment.
