Giant Outdoor Billiards Now Played With Mechanical Cue (Nov, 1931)

Giant Outdoor Billiards Now Played With Mechanical Cue

WHILE golf and autos have gone midget, billiards has reversed the process and gone giant. This unusual condition came to pass recently in Seattle, where the outdoor billiard table you see in the photo at the left was built.

The billiard cues used in this big time game also have a claim to fame. The balls, which are as large as apples, though not as tasty, are struck by a plunger which is operated by a trigger as illustrated in the photo. The game is played in every respect like a regular billiard game, with the added advantage of fresh air.

To give you an idea of the table’s size, the inventor says that in an emergency it can be converted into a dance floor.
