		<description>You&#039;ll never run short of people who believe strongly in these sorts of things. It&#039;s part of human nature to want to have some sort of control over nature. In the case of the water diviners, they are generally pretty successful in that there is a water table underlying virtually every square yard of land except under the driest of deserts. And even there one can usually find water if one digs down deep enough. By the way, the authors state that the water diviner is called a &quot;bowser&quot;.  That&#039;s incorrect. The word is &quot;dowser&quot;.  Interesting article. Thanks.
