Thanks for posting the item about Earle Bruce. I read about him 37 years ago, when I bought the 1939 Tudor Deluxe which I still have today. I was impressed with his 40 Ford story, and the different stages his car went through over the years. I also remember he kept the process of chrome plating the 40 steering wheel a secret, which I really appreciated. I see he passed away last year, and I am saddened but grateful for the legend he left, as well as the stories the people wrote and the photos which were supplied by those who chronicled his life. I will always remember the legend, as well as the picture of him with "Spot" next to the 40 Coupe.

Hello,
I am sad to report that the one and only Earle Bruce has passed away...in his sleep just four days shy of his 91st birthday. I have a photo story I put together about Earle's "Last Run" at El Mirage.
It's in a document form. Is there some way I can get it to you for possibly posting so people can see his beautiful '40 Ford that he owned for 70 years!

Regards,
Paul Garson

It's always interesting to see how old common phrases are. I had no idea "That’s my story and I’ll stick to it," and its many variants, go back to 1947.
