Nemo: You've never seen a truck-based genny?

A lot of films are shot in the area I work, so we see the smaller ones on 5 tonne trucks all the time. And every now and then, some company's data centre needs extra power for a few months, either during a conversion or while waiting a grid upgrade, so a generator set in a 40' container is dropped into their courtyard (and usually decorated so as to fit in.)

Hi Folks,
Uh, when was this design dreamed up? And why didn't we see a Truck Semi-Version of it in operation courtesy FEMA and FEMA approved contractors for immediate disaster Relief? IIs it feasible? Is it practicable? Or is it just another brilliant idea, that didn't work; (because its not cost effective?)
