Over-budget Mars mission granted stay of execution-

NASA officials decided on Friday to press ahead with the over-budget Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) rover, rumoured to be in danger of cancellation.
The mission, which would drop a nuclear-powered rover the size of an SUV on the surface of Mars to search for signs of habitability, is already $300 million over its proposed 2006 budget of $1.6 billion. MSL is currently set to take off in September or October 2009.
