		<description>Roosevelt was kind of an afterthought. I don&#039;t remember exactly at what point he was added, but this story accurately portrays the original model for the mountain. Roosevelt was actually a personal friend of Borglum&#039;s, so at some point he added him to the design.
Also, in the photo in this article, you can see that Jefferson has been started to the left of the Washington head. It was later determined that the rock there was unsuitable and the blasted Jefferson off and started him again to the right of Washington.
