I think “dark blue Japanese paper” is a typo and the INK is dark blue- the cut specifies white paper.

Some inks fade with time.
Pencil messages are preferred for time capsules.

I’ll try to ignore the asbestos and lead (playthings of mine, years ago) and ask, what’s up with that “dark blue Japanese paper? I remember balsa wood aircraft kits coming with a dark blue tissue – any connection?
