NEW IN THE AIR

VANGUARD 2C is new VTOL (above and at right) with ducted fans in wings, pusher prop in tail. Cruising speed is 165 mph.

KAMAN DRONE helicopter carries two torpedoes weighing 1,000 lbs. for 110 miles.

GLUHAREFF MEG-1X strap-on helicopter has unique counter-balanced, one-bladed rotor using a propane-fueled Set on tip.

McDONNELL F4H-1 is new Navy interceptor with Mach 2 speed. It carries lour Sparrow missiles, can deliver nuclear punch.

NORTH AMERICAN A3J-1 is two-man attack bomber for carriers. It is 70 ft long, has an unusual bomb bay in the tail section.

  3. The GLUHAREFF MEG-1X requires no tail rotor because of the
    Ram-Jet engines at the tips of the rotor.
    No torque to counteract.
