Sprite with vodka speaks for itself. (Oct, 1967)
When was the last time you saw a soft drink ad with alcohol in it?
Sprite with vodka speaks for itself.
Sprite. The soft drink with a message: tingling tartness.
Switched on. Exuberant. Noisy.
Not sweet.
Not anything you’ve heard before.
Or tasted.
Get a carton of Sprite and hear how it turns vodka on.
Then taste! If a soft drink answers don’t hang up.
Sprite has something to say!

I don’t know, when’s the last time I saw an ad for Zima?
(or a bit more timely, Mike’s Hard [whatever])

fluffy: My bad, poor choice of words. Those actually have alcohol in them. I meant an ad for a soft drink to be used as a mixer. Like Coca Cola advertising about how yummy a Jack and Coke would be.

I realize that, I was making a joke about Zima and Mike’s Hard [whatever] being alcoholic soda. As usual it fell flat, much like those alcopops.

That is one seriously weird ad. I can’t tell if I’m supposed to buy Sprite, vodka, Sprite and vodka, or to call my wife and tell her to have me a drink ready when I get home from the office. That ad copy is almost a string of random thoughts bordering on free verse.

“Sprite with vodka speaks for itself.”
Yeah, it’s saying, “Psst, come here, try this. Now, go throw up.”

Judging by her goofy smile, I’m thinking she’s been “listening” to the vodka for quite a while.

This is my favourite combination when I truly want to enjoy myself in a bar, ALONE -Vodka + Sprite. Well, I thought I was the only person on Earth who knew this brilliant recipe!!!!!
