In case you wonder what this weird comment in French means: it has been posted since 2004 on all possible kinds of blogs by a “nina” saying she is trying to “solve a small problem” with French President Sarkozy (I removed the qualifiers); depending of the search engine you use, there are between thousands to a million occurrences of this text (with small variants). If Sarkozy runs for a second mandate, this epidemy will turn into a pandemy…

rsterling78, I guess it depends on what “pinpointed” means. By modern GPS standards we wouldn’t say that, but by 1953 to get within a few miles or so would be pretty good; and then directions would still be needed. That’s my guess, anyway . . . .

If they’ve pinpointed your location, why do you need to give them directions?

Wouldn’t it be better to have the plates on the armor pointing upwards? It looks like any blast coming from below (you know, where mines tend to explode?) would send shrapnel right through those chinks.

I think that almost all of these still exist in a slightly more advanced form-
I agree that the Armadillo Suit is probably mostly for psychological comfort but layered kevlar is what they wear today.

I have a hunch the benefit of the armadillo suit is mostly psychological.

I always get a kick out of taking something in a foreign language and running it through a machine translator — it’s really pot luck to see what one gets:
