Kathe, the last word I have is that Fawcett Publications was purchased by the CBS Corporation. They would be my first suggestion to obtaining rights from a Mechanix Illustrated:

Kathe, you certainly have my permission to use the images, however you are right, you probably need permission from the rights holder. I however have no idea who that might be.

Hello,

some of your clippings are really great. For a museum in Warsaw (http://www.kopernik.org.pl/) I need to design a big collage of the history of futurology. Therefore I need imaginations of the future like those on your website.
I think for the license on the pictures I need to get in contact with the magazin, isn't it? But does it still exist? Do you know, how to go about this?
I think, you got already a lot of requests, isn't it?

Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Kathe

Nice stuff, docca, though I wish the mechanisms shots had been hi-res ... just enough there in the little images to be intriguing. Cheers -- MrG / http://www.vectorsite.net/gblog.html
