Tr2 is way better looking than any overpriced Nissan , CD players are for those who cant drive I have a tr2 with a few mods and runs 15 sec 1/4 mile times at 89 mph with 1900 cc's of engine and a 5 speed, gets 40 plus mpg lighter/faster, take that overweight nissan tank

My inflation calculator shows $2500 in 1954 being equivalent to $20,265 in 2010. What's a 350Z - $35,000?

And a TR3 with 86mm pistons, TR4 cylinder head milled to 10:1, a bit of a cam, TR2 exhaust system (to maintain that sweet roar), a limited slip diff and a rack & pinion steering conversion with heavy front antisway bar is all the more sweeter.

Even today HP to weight ratio accounts for something in a world of much heavier modern cars. Beware, TRs are still out there stalking lesser prey.

if you can't have fun with 90hp, 200 more won't do you any good. You don't need a CD player because the sound of the engine is sweeter. You welcome the loss of GPS because it allows you to take the long way home.

Who needs all that other stuff? What happened to the concept of DRIVING a sports car?

The main difference between this car and the 350Z is that this car actually looks good.

Adjusting for inflation, the Triumph is a only a little cheaper than the Nissan 350Z, but the Nissan has 287 hp instead of 90 hp, gets to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds instead of 11.7, and has a CD player, power everything, and GPS.

On the other hand, the Nissan only gets 24 mpg on the highway (17 in the city), while the 55-year-old Triumph gets 35 mpg. Some progress there.
