He taught me to drive at about that age (on the beach; legal back then) in a Jeep just like that. He'd only let me drive at low tide, below the high-tide line so as not to disturb the nesting birds, the vegetation or dunes. He discovered that may not have been such a good idea when I got it stuck with the tide coming in. He managed to get it out, though. Considering it was the early 1960s, he had an amazing respect for the environment. That could be my dad and me.
