  2. You guessed wrong, he’s selling his Magic Dot system later found by the FTC to be fraudulent http://www.ftc.gov/os/annualreports/ar1930.pdf (just do a search for either Homan or Magic Dot within the pdf)

    He invented stuff for the support and repair of hernias and groin ruptures

  3. Yep “ruptures” were the old way of saying “hernias”… And back when men did a lot more heavy lifting, they were much more common yet there was no easy surgical solution… so one had to wear a special belt to hold your insides in. http://www.gutenberg.org/files...../pic56.jpg
