Eye-Shade for Watching Planes
A NOVEL card-board shield, shaped to fit tightly around the eyes, has recently been devised for watching airplanes, boats and other objects where glaring reflections are hard on the eyes. The inside of the shield is painted black.
For some reason I picture this woman with a black ring on her face when she takes this thing down.

As seen in one of the Star Trek: The Animated Series episodes of the 1970s?

Re:#2
This is the only image I can find from Star Trek The Animated Series episode “The Practical Joker”
that features Mr.s Spock’s gag microscope.
(That particular episode is the first appearance of the Holodeck!)

jayessell: Yeah, I got your padawan. Very impressive yourself, but you are not yet a Jedi.
