THE COSMOPOLITAN LOOK

Tippi Hedrin, top-flight photographers’ model, leads a hectic double life. Monday to Friday she runs from one New York studio appointment to the next. On Friday she boards a train to Darlington, Maryland, and the farm where she and her husband, Peter Atwill Griffith, raise horses. For the next two days, Tippi and Peter can go about the pleasant business of leading a simple country life.

1. Peter Atwill Griffith is presumably the one who gave his surname to Tippi’s best-known child Melanie Griffith.

3. I did not know that Melanie Griffith was Tippi Hedren’s daughter. What I was expecting to see in this thread was someone commenting that a model’s life is for the birds!

4. Think of Alfred Hitchcocks’ “The Birds” and “Marnie ” as well , not a bad actress.

5. I wonder whether Hedren (not Hedrin)’s life influenced the plot of Marnie, the film? Marnie Edgar, like Hedren, lives in Maryland and keeps a horse there.
