THE latest contribution to the science of improving feminine beauty is a helmet having a glass shield which is treated to remove infra-red rays from sunlight, allowing wearer to retain white skin on the face.

  1. Because infra-red associates with “warmth”, and so does sunburn. But will it have greenhouse-effect?

  2. I was going to say that: suntans and sunburn are caused by UV rays, not infrared.

    I’m not sure if I want to look like Floyd R. Turbo on the beach either.

  4. It would stop UV rays too. You don’t get a sunburn behind glass.

    She looks like an Xmen character. Perhaps her power is UV related and she wears the helmet so she doesn’t accidentally kill everyone?
