I was going to say that: suntans and sunburn are caused by UV rays, not infrared.
I’m not sure if I want to look like Floyd R. Turbo on the beach either.

It would stop UV rays too. You don’t get a sunburn behind glass.
She looks like an Xmen character. Perhaps her power is UV related and she wears the helmet so she doesn’t accidentally kill everyone?
