I always thought the typography was trying to bring “Blow” and “Up” together to evoke the movie of that name or something.
Did this ad run before 1966? I remember it from the ’70s.
Toronto: Here it is in 1972
Here is one from 1969
1968 as well so yeah, I’d say you are in the ballpark.
Whomever wrote that ad must have been in a hurry, they give no information on color posters and they don’t mention if that address on the bottom is where you send the pictures. Maybe the color posters and B&W posters were the same price.
Yaos, maybe you read it too fast. It’s clear to me that 2 x 3 foot color posters are $14.95 and 2 x 3 foot B&W are $3.95 and as far as not knowing whether the only address provided in the ad is the one you should use….are you kidding???
Turns out that the company is still there.

I remember this ad, and the humorous reading!
In the 60s, my small-town newspaper ran an ad from a local beauty shop who’d hired a new beautician. The copy was something like “xxx Salon welcomes Angie, specializing in hair cutting and blowing.”
Rick, you reminded me of a television telethon I worked on, one of the hosts was describing one of the auctions. She said, “…a haircut and a blow job.” Everyone started cracking up and we lost control of the show for a few seconds, we had two or three wise asses call in and want to bid on it.
Mike, that reminds me of this classic Shepard Smith blooper: http://www.youtube.com/…
Blow up your TV, throw away your paper, go to the country, build you a home.
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches, try and find Jesus on your own.
I knew that topless lady, she had something up her sleeve
