CAMERA ON GUN TO TRAP CROOKS (Jul, 1934)
CAMERA ON GUN TO TRAP CROOKS
Photographic identification of fleeing criminals may be obtained with a recently perfected camera which is attached to a pistol or rifle and worked by the gun’s trigger. The lens used can work at an opening of F/3.5, which permits the camera to be used in comparatively poor light and at high speed. The small negatives are sharp enough to be enlarged.
I guess the cartridges provide the flash.
Good for an image of the bad guy’s back and soles of his shoes. Otherwise identification could be made by the coroner after the “shoot” 🙂
This is one way I DON’T want my mugshot taken!
Now you can catch that precious look on your victim’s face as he stares into eternity!
Gun-cameras were fitted to many aircraft in WW2 to confirm whether or not the shots were hitting their targets.
Nothing new under the sun:

pcarney, that eliminates the “fallible and all-too-often hostile eyewitness testimony” and cameras that those pesky citizens are always using. See… there really is no need to record or photograph the police anymore!
