Many of the towns lying along the Platte River are close to sand pits — depressions made when sand is dredged. These fill up with clear water and the sandy sloping bottoms make these various pools ideal for swimming and other water sports. Don Webb lives in Kearney, Nebraska, and of course there is an abundance of these miniature lakes close by; so Don built a sub which is manned by a couple of boys. And to say that they have a lot of fun with it is putting it mildly.

FOLKS who enjoy playing the game of bridge will soon be able to step into their favorite movie theaters and watch an actual bridge game being played on the movie screen. It will be a picture from life, not a mere movie—the players will be located in the basement of the theater, and the scene shown will be an actual reproduction of their plays, flashed upon the screen by an ingenious arrangement of lights and mirrors.

The trick is to remove the slip of paper from under coin perched on lip of glass without disturbing coin. Bring forefinger down sharply against paper strip, half way between center of coin and finger holding other end of paper. Presto! Coin remains as paper is pulled away with downward thrust of forefinger of free hand. Small glass has greater curve to balance the coin.
