E-Z BILT HALL CLOCK (Apr, 1939)

I love this ad. They obviously couldn’t afford the more expensive vertical or square ads, so they just put the clock in sideways.

A very sharp way to sell your hall clock movements without shipping an expensive case! Some ad exec should have gotten a big bonus for this idea.

They still sell these. About $1k for the case kit, $500-2000 for the movement and chimes, and $1000 of labour (or $1000 worth of fun in the workshop, depending on your point of view.)

Kuempel Chime Clock Co. went out of business in 2008. There must be lots of their movements out there.
