Efficient Antenna for Auto Radio (Feb, 1934)
Efficient Antenna for Auto Radio
A MANUFACTURER of radio equipment has designed a novel antenna for auto radios. As shown below, the antenna is attached to the underside of the running board where it is out of the way.
I don’t see how that would be more efficient than one mounted higher.
Under the car is probably the worst place to put an antenna. Not only would it be shielded on the top by the car, but also on the bottom by dirt.
This was the standard antenna for the 39 Buick and ? others.
Does anyone know how well they functioned?
