Give an Atkins Saw for Christmas (Dec, 1950)

Do you have friends and family with cows that need sawing up? Well do I have the gift for you!

ATKINS Jr.-65, identical in everything but size with the famous Atkins No. 65, its larger counterpart—same Perfection-Pattern handle, same super-fine steel, same precision balance and taper grinding! But reduced in size for easy handling by smaller hands! High-speed, “Silver Steel” quality through and through! Other saws in the Atkins Junior Line include Jr. 2, Jr. 4 and Jr. 6 — all small editions of Atkins saws which have proved their outstanding superiorities in the hands of particular craftsmen for many years!

See the Christmas wrapped Atkins saws now on display by your hardwareman—ideal gifts for family and friends!

So Atkins saws would all be made from stainless steel since they would have to be carb-on free.

Yes, bad jokes at Christmastime, it’s my glorious gift to all! 😉

I thought that this was kind of ominous…those cows are looking at the saws like they are gonna be next!

Sure! No carb—–on. And lots of beef, it’s the Atkins way!!

I guess it’s funnier if you say it rather than read it…or maybe it’s not.

No I got the Atkins thing. It would be funnier if steel without carbon wasn’t steel but simply called “iron”.

Now I get an image of Jack Paar doing the joke, it falling flat and then he gets a bigger laugh trying to explain it!! 🙂

Jay Leno would have this on Headlines if it were modern.

Just imagine an ad with a couple of cows selling chainsaws!
