Milk Spray Aids Sun Tan (May, 1938)

Milk Spray Aids Sun Tan
Bathers at Willow Lake, near Glendale, Calif., have adopted mass-production methods to speed up the process of acquiring coveted coats of sun tan. They employ a motor-driven atomizer to apply a newly developed milk spray, which is said to protect the skin from unaccustomed exposure to the sun’s rays and to help prevent burning- and peeling.

Sounds feasible. After all, milk (or lactose) is brushed on spit roasted chickens and also on bread, pastry and other food to make it go brown!
Personally, I use COCONUT OIL to develop a tan. You fry nicely, but dont burn or scorch, as long as my body is regularly basted. Also, it is relatively cheap, and smells nice!
    Happy Chinese New year.

Of all things! I guess one could pour enough milk into the bathtub and bask. Brrrrr.

What’s the saying……Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? (Thanks Mom!) Does it apply here? I’m sure twisted minds could forage up an adaptation.

    Let me know!
