Robot Cashier Takes Money and Gives Photo as Receipt

When you pay your bills to the “Incassomat,” an automatic cashier, out comes a receipt bearing a photograph showing what you have deposited—be it coin or currency, note or other document. This robot cashier with the photographic brain is being tested in England for possible installation in banks and business houses. It records every transaction, takes a picture of the deposit and shows the time it was made.

    I wonder why this idea went back on the shelf for 45 years.
    Was it because of a problem with the all-analog technology? Or was it because it was deposit-only?
