See-Saw Rocks Dead Back to Life
PERSONS apparently drowned can be “rocked” back to life by a new artificial resuscitation apparatus being installed in hospitals all over England.
The machine produces 10 to 15 see-saw motions a minute to induce an exact imitation of natural breathing. It work automatically once the patient is balanced on the light metal frame.

Somehow Dick Cheney comes to mind….
Rick: Let it go Man…
Somehow the idea of using a hand pump seems simpler than this. Modern units work by forcing air into and out of the lungs.
Usually in the workplace, quitting time brings the dead back to life!
History of CPR – maybe. Smoke enemas…oh boy. I guess this wasn’t so bad.

When the patient wakes up they are terrified because they are strapped down and being forced up and down.
“Eve’s technique” seems to be one of the least effective methods of artificial ventilation:

And of course there the “Bee Gees” addendum to CPR: You’re supposed to do the chest compressions to the rhyme of “Stayin’ Alive”. That’s apparently about 103 beats per minute.
Under no circumstances should you use “Massachusetts” or “New York Mining Disaster 1941.” Either one may cause the rescued person to get up and jump back into the lake.
Toronto: You mean disco finally served a purpose for good and not evil?
Yeah – frightening, isn’t it?
