Undies are Gossips!

Avoid Offending -LUX undies daily.

WE ALL PERSPIRE up to 2 or 3 pints a day, scientists say. Undies absorb the odor. You don’t notice it, but others do.

Play safe — Lux underthings after every wearing. New, quick Lux whisks away perspiration odor fast, yet safely.

Undies new-looking longer!

Daily Luxing keeps undies like new much longer, too. Avoid harsh washday soaps—cake-soap rubbing. New, quick Lux is safe for anything safe in water.

Save precious foundations by Luxing them often, too. Gentle Lux saves the rubber and fabric.

New Quick LUX is thrifty – see how much one box will do!

I’m not sure that Lux is still around but I’ll go change mine just to be on the safe side.

It makes sense for the time: back then, if you lived in the city you sent your laundry out to a service if you could at all afford it. (Hence the old trope of laundry hanging between apartment buildings denoting poverty and all that it entailed.)

The only exception was women’s underwear, which was normally hand-washed at home in the bathroom sink, as it was usually silk and couldn’t be machine-laundered.
